Dear Park’s Edge Preschool Families,

April was filled with a lot of fun activities. We started off the month by celebrating the 55th anniversary of the “Week of the Young Child.” I was so amazed at all the different instruments that the children made on Monday for the parade. We had maracas, harmonicas, shakers, drums, and more! I couldn’t believe how creative every classroom was. It was wonderful to see all the artwork displayed around the parade route as well.

A huge thank you to everyone for donating to the Angelman Foundation. We were able to raise $400 for this excellent foundation.

Thursday, April 23, was Parent-Teacher Conference Night. We had a wonderful turnout—thank you to all the families who attended. The teachers are already setting new individual goals for the children, as well as collecting more anecdotal notes for their portfolios. Please make sure to fill out a Parent Survey. The feedback from the surveys provides us with valuable insight to plan future training and identify ways we can improve our center. The box is located on top of the parent mailboxes.

Calling all mothers and grandmothers for a Mother’s Day Breakfast! On Friday, May 8, from 7–8 a.m., we will be providing breakfast, which will be served in Kurth Hall. The menu includes cheese omelets, sausage, French toast, fresh fruit, coffee, juice, and milk. Invitations are in your mailbox, and the RSVP sheet is located at the front desk. We try to seat families together so you can meet some of the children in your child’s class. I truly enjoy watching friendships form for both the moms and the children. We wish you a very Happy Mother’s Day.

On Thursday, May 21, we will celebrate a big milestone for 20 children at Park’s Edge Preschool. The 2026 Preschool Graduation Ceremony is for children who are entering 5K in the fall. This is an exciting event for parents and staff. We will hold a ceremony in the church at 7 p.m., followed by Granny’s Treats. A family invitation will be mailed to your home. All family members are welcome that night. There will be a sign-up at the front desk. Congratulations to all 2026 graduates, including Ms. Makenna, Ms. Aubrey, and Ms. Annabel, who will be graduating from high school. Ms. Makenna and Ms. Aubrey also graduated from Park’s Edge; I am honored to celebrate both of their milestones.

We have another fabulous and safe summer planned this year! The summer program calendars for ages 4 and up were distributed during the Spring Fling. The summer program starts Monday, June 15. There is a flat fee of $150 for summer programming, which will be collected through Tuition Express on Monday, June 1. The summer field trip forms will be distributed the week of May 11 and must be returned no later than Friday, May 22, to ensure we are ready to transport children on their first field trip.

PEP will be closed on Monday, May 26, in honor of Memorial Day. Regular tuition charges will still apply. We remember and honor those who lost their lives in service to our country. Please have a safe and memorable Memorial Day weekend.

Sincerely,
Kristin Burr
Director
