Hello Families,

We had a wonderful February celebrating love! The children dressed in pink, purple, white, red, and/or hearts and had a blast putting on a parade for the families! They also got to do fun Valentine’s projects and passed out cards and treats to their friends. Each classroom made Valentine’s cards for the Hales Corners Care Center and Emanuel Church, which both parties were so excited to receive! Thank you, Emanuel Church, for letting us use the beautiful sanctuary for our parade!

Coffee with director was held February 29th and was a success! From our past meetings a popular topic was redirection and how we apply that technique in our classrooms. I shared some of our strategies and discussed some of the tools, such as books, we utilize to help positively direct behaviors in the classrooms. If you are interested in copies of our books, please come find me if there are other topics you would like to discuss please talk to me or email me at haley@parksedgepreschool.com. I look forward to our next coffee with the director on Thursday, April 25th, 2024, from 7:30 am to 9:00 am. I will not be hosting a coffee with the director in March due to Spring break.

Friday March 8th, 2024, PEP will be closing at 12:00 pm for our professional half day. During this training we will talk about product versus process art. We will discuss licensing and NAC standards as we prepare for our validation visit in Spring. This training allows us to learn new and refresh current practices so we can continue to provide the best care for your child. We will also have all the carpets cleaned that day.

Our St. Patty’s Day parade will be March 15th at 10:00 am. We are excited to wear our gold, green, and/or shamrock outfits and march to Irish music and celebrate this fun holiday! All our families are welcome along with family members you chose to invite. We cannot wait to see everyone there!

Summer packets will be available at the end of March! This will highlight all of our in-house and out-of-house field trips, for ag-es 4 and up. We are ex-cited to see what Ms. Nicole. Mr. Cody, and Ms. Melinda have planned! A summer enrollment survey will go out at the beginning of April.

Thank you to all our families who attended Emanuel’s Lego night! Also, thank you to the Board of Christian Education who let us know all about this exciting event held by the church. Congratulations to the Zacher’s who took the prize for the Lego building contest! All the structures looked amazing, and the teachers enjoyed checking them out!

Have a wonderful March everyone!

Sincerely,

Haley Bigger
