Hello Families,
Happy Spring everyone! We are excited for warmer weather, trees with green leaves, and for flowers to bloom!
We had a wonderful time celebrating St. Patrick’s Day! The children danced the time away to fun music for our St. Patty’s Day parade and sported their green, gold, and clover outfits for this special occasion. We had a great turnout of parents and grandparents who enjoyed the parade. Thank you to Emanuel Church for letting us use their Sanctuary for our parade!
PEP’s Spring Fling was a spectacular time! The children got pictures with the easter bunny, everyone enjoyed delicious snacks, and each classroom had a fun activity planned for the children! Some activities were Ring Toss, Guess the smell of the easter egg (coffee, orange, mint, egg, or toothpaste), Jellybean Crosses, Chalk Eggs, Egg Find, and Egg Ramp. Thank you to everyone who was able to join us for this wonderful Spring event!
We want to give a huge “Thank You!” to Emanuel Church for another fantastic fish fry! We are thankful for all the hard work that went into preparing each meal as well as the preparation in Kurth Hall to welcome all the hungry guests. The prayer card provided for the meals was a delightful way to start off our dinner. We cannot wait for next year’s delicious fish fry!
Park’s Edge Preschool also had a wonderful book donation from Izzy Source in honor of the late Sue Source. Teaching was a passion of hers for many years and now her love of books will be shared with the children here at PEP. Sue was also a former member of Park’s Edge Preschool’s Board of Directors. The children love reading so we are excited to share these wonderful books with the classrooms!
Summer packets were handed out so we can start to plan for Summer. If you did not give us your Summer Enrollment Survey, they are due by Thursday April 28th, 2024. Included with the survey was a list of field trips that the children will be going on. Ms. Nicole, Mr. Cody, and Ms. Melinda planned a summer jam packed with fun adventures! We cannot wait for our Summer Program and know the children will have a blast this Summer!
Friday, April 12th, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm will be the Sock Hop Retirement Party for Ellen! We are excited to celebrate the 20 incredible years Ellen has dedicated to PEP. She worked hard to get Park’s Edge Preschool Licensed and NAC accredited. All this work has gained PEP an excellent reputation in the community and a 5-star Youngstar rating. We cannot wait to celebrate Ellen and her dedication to PEP. We will see you all there!
Week of the Young Child is April 8th – 12th! There will be a surprise for parents on the 10th, Teacher Appreciation Day the 11th, and the sock hop on the 12th! April 10th will be our Week of the Young Child Parade from 10-11am. The children will dance to fun music and the teachers will have themed banners to celebrate the education of children! On April 11th PEP will have pajama, movie, and popcorn day so have your child wear their favorite pjs!
Coffee with the director in February was about Redirection and Positive Child Guidance. We looked at some fun books such as “Hands are not for Hitting” and “Voices are not for Yelling”. April 25th is our next Coffee with the Director, and we will be talking about Potty Training. We will have delicious coffee and treats along with great conversation. Hope to see you all there!
