Dear Park’s Edge Preschool Families:

Where did June go? Summer is in full swing already at Park’s Edge Preschool and I always feel melancholy as July 4th approaches that it’s half over already. PEP is closed Thursday, July 4thHoliday. Regular tuition charges will be applied. Consider spending the holiday in Hales Corners.

Safety first–Park’s Edge Preschool does a background check on all field trip volunteers/chaperones. The PEP children age four years old and up have been out and about in the community. Our most recent trip was a summer popular favorite to St. Ann’s Intergenerational Aquatic Center for indoor swimming. The staff and children are excited to have the whole pool to ourselves. Swimming safety first…At St. Ann’s the children are provided with swimming vests and a lifeguard is on duty! Next week the children will safely walk to McDonald’s for lunch.

Keeping Cool at Park’s Edge Preschool… all ages are enjoying Thursday afternoons with our special in-house fieldtrip…Granny’s Treats. The musical ice cream truck has been serving up tasty treats every summer at PEP for twelve years. Everybody is happy at PEP on Thursdays. 🙂

Happy childhood memories made here… Sunday, August 4th is AugustFest from 11am to 4pm. This year we have a lot to celebrate, including PEP’s 20 Year Anniversary! AugustFest is an annual collaboration between Park’s Edge Preschool and Emanuel Church and a traditional summer celebration for friends and families to celebrate summer together. Family fun for everyone will include a Bounce House and an Obstacle Course. Food, wonderful food…roasted chicken, corn, hotdogs, brats, home-made German potato salad, chips and more will Farina served on various committees for Emanuel Church including Building and Grounds Trustee and AugustFest Committee. John passed away a few years ago and is missed by many. Park’s Edge Preschool has won the match every year! I hope you can come and share the summer fun with family and friends here at Emanuel/Park’s Edge Preschool! We are looking for a few volunteers to help at the festival. If you are interested in volunteering, please see Ellen or Kristin.nThank you!

The ‘Fall Enrollment Survey Form’ will be in your family mailbox the week of July 15th. Please be served. You won’t want sure to complete it and to miss the variety of home-made desserts available too. Park’s Edge Preschool will be sponsoring carnival games too!

More AugustFest highlights include the annual car show. This is our fourth year of classic cars, hot rods, muscle cars and more. In past years, one of our family favorites is a friendly competition of tug of war’ between Park’s Edge Preschool and Emanuel Church. The match has been lovingly named the ‘John Farina Tug of War Memorial Tournament’. FYI-John return by Friday, August 2nd. We look forward to a busy fall when many of the children return to PEP after the summer break. Remember to mark your calendars for AugustFest, Sunday, August 4th and PEP’s Annual Open House and Progressive Dinner will be held thThursday, September 5 from 6:30-8 pm.

Sincerely,

Ellen M. Kvalheim
