Dear Park’s Edge Preschool Families:
Why does summer have to end? Last week we celebrated
‘Christmas In July’ with a visit from Santa Claus! Did you know he travels by motorcycle in summer and sleigh in winter? HO! HO! HO! Time sure flies when we’re having FUN! Park’s Edge is a fun place to be year‘round!
Speaking of round…a round of applause for Ms. Jenele, Ms. Melinda and Ms. Kristin (PEP’s Summer Planning Committee). They planned an outstanding summer for children over 4 years old, which included a variety of educational and fun fieldtrip destinations, on-site and in the community! Our last hurrah is our fieldtrip to St. Anns Intergenerational Facility complete with pool and lifeguard for summer fun and safe swimming!
Children and staff are enjoying a happy, healthy and safe summer at Parks’ Edge Preschool and we want it to continue. Thank you to Pastor Dale Stohre, Emanuel Church’s Interim Pastor while Pastor Bill Utke is away on sabbatical, and a member of the PEP Board of Directors, for blessing Park’s Edge Preschool’s children’s bikes, trikes, wheeled toys and buggies too. Our summer wouldn’t be the same without God’s blessings and safety too!
Park’s Edge Preschool families, children and staff participated in Emanuel Church’s Vacation Bible School themed‘Journey in the Jungle’. VBS was held on-site July 22nd -25th from 5:30 to 7:30pm. Parents were treated to ‘date night’ Monday through Wednesday of that week. Thursday evening families were included in the activities and treated to sub sandwiches and cake in celebration of a terrific week learning about God’s love and jungle animals. Thank you, Emanuel Church for inviting the PEP families to participate. Applause to Karin McElrone, Emanuel Church’s Administrative Assistant/VBS Coordinator and team for an outstanding week. Thank you to Ms. Jenele and Ms. Julie for contributing their time and talent to the success of Emanuel Church’s VBS! We are already looking forward to 2020’s VBS!
Picture Day(s) at PEP is something new for us…Teddy Bear Portraits photographs the children in the morning and families choose from digital photo poses to create their package the same afternoon at pick-up. The photo shoot is scheduled from 8am to 12pm, Wednesday, August 14th and Thursday, August 15th. Watch for details!
August is a very special time of year when we welcome or say good-bye to our PEP families by celebrating summer with AugustFest, Sunday, August 4th. Park’s Edge Preschool is sponsoring 2 bounce houses. One is ‘Toy Story’ themed and the other is ‘Sponge Bob’ themed offering an obstacle course. We look forward to the Car Show, delicious ‘fair’ food, raffle baskets and games too! It’s an afternoon for Emanuel Church and PEP families to join the entire community in celebrating summer together. Park’s Edge Preschool celebrated a twenty-year anniversary on June 1, 2019. Purchase a can of beer and you will receive a free PEP koozie, sporting PEP’s new logo‘serving the community since1999’!
Look for Park’s Edge Preschool at Hales Corners National Night Out on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 from 5-9pm. Emanuel Church’s Good News Group will be there too. It is a great way to see ‘what’s happening’ in Hales Corners and the surrounding community at Hales Corners Village Park.
It has been another memorable summer at PEP. It’s that time of year we say farewell to summer friends leaving us for the school year and welcome back friends returning for the 2019-2020 school year. We have a busy fall ahead of us. PEP’s 2019 Open House/Progressive Dinner will be held on Thursday, September 5th from 5:30-7pm. PEP’s Open House offers you an opportunity to bring a neighbor or friend that may be interested in childcare. A $100 referral credit is added to your account after the new family is enrolled for 90 days. Word of mouth is PEP’s best advertising. Thank you!!
With all the ‘busy’ness at Park’s Edge Preschool we cannot forget our mission to care for and teach the children about God and His teachings ‘to love one another.’ We are blessed to have so many opportunities to role model ‘His’ message.
Sincerely,
Ellen M. Kvalheim, Park’s Edge Preschool’s Director
