Dear Park’s Edge Preschool Families:

I am excited about the start of the new school year in welcoming many new friends but sad to say goodbye to our departing families. A round of applause to Mr. Cody, Ms. Jenele, and Ms. Melinda for planning another awesome summer for our school-age children. Another happy ending in celebration of summer with a pizza party, pajamas, and movie day all rolled into one on Thursday, August 18th… who can forget the giant waterslide and foam machine… and the talented musician Mr. Ryan Macintyre, hurry back summer…we’re going to miss you!

All good things must come to an end…and with the end of summer coming that means Thursday afternoons just won’t be the same at PEP. Both staff and children enjoy summer ice cream treats served every Thursday afternoon by ‘Granny’s Treats’. It is hard to say goodbye to Thursdays… summer…and Granny’s treats☹ Our last serving this summer was on a Tuesday, August 23rd! We are going to miss Granny’s Treats and summer!

Three heroes visited Park’s Edge Preschool on Wednesday, August 17th to say ‘thank you to the children for their good wishes, cards, pictures, and letters. The 3 veteran servicemen received mail from PEP children during ‘mail call’ on their recent ‘Honor Flight’ as they returned home. Park’s Edge Preschool was gifted with a beautiful quilt, now hanging in our entrance area, in saying ‘thank you and treated with red, white, and blue cupcakes too! ‘THANK YOU’ to Mr. Margowski (Kristin and Megan’s stepfather), Mr. Malarkey, Mr. Scuiti. and all the other service members who have served this great nation! These gentlemen are real-life action heroes for children to look up to and respect…I’ll say it again…thank you for your sacrifice and commitment to protecting our freedom!

Learning at PEP during the school year is fun for all ages…including the staff! Did you know staff meets monthly for in-service training on the Teaching Cycle, Culture Workshop, and best practices (to name a few)? This year PEP scheduled Professional Days to support staff. Our most recent was scheduled on Friday, August 26th for staff training, curriculum planning, and classroom preparation for the new school year. The next scheduled Professional Day is Friday, November 4th; PEP will close at noon. We appreciate your support in maintaining our staff to better serve you. We are looking forward to ‘Emanuel Church’s Rally Sunday’ on Sunday, September 18th at 9:30 am Worship Service. Rally Sunday is an introduction to Emanuel Church’s Sunday School program held during Worship Service during the school year. PEP is an outreach mission of Emanuel Church in serving families in the community with childcare and teaching Christian values to the children in our care. Park’s Edge Preschool is recognized by the United Church of Christ as a Christian Ministry of the Council for Health and Human Service Ministries (CHHSM). Park’s Edge Preschool offers a 10% discount to participating families in Emanuel Church.
