Dear Park’s Edge Preschool Families:
Park’s Edge Preschool kicked off the 2022-2023 school year with PEP’s Annual Open House on Thursday, September 8th from 5 to 6 pm. This year’s Open House featured each classroom showcasing learning centers—music, math, literacy, music and movement, art, science, sensory, and the Christian component. Attending families were given a booklet of the 2022-2023 PEP faculty biographies…let me know if you didn’t get one, so I can give that to you. A ‘family picnic-to-go’ treated families’ to individual lunch bags with sunflower butter and jelly sandwiches, Cheez-its, apples, and water, to take home, or to the park. Next month’s family event is PEP’s 3rd Annual ‘Trunk-or-Treat’, scheduled for Thursday, October 27th, from 5 to 7 pm. Come join in the Halloween fun…watch for details below!
Love of Neighbor, Love of children, Love of creation is one of the UCC’s campaign slogans. The children at Park’s Edge Preschool will be loving on the community by bringing in non-perishable food items throughout October to share with the local food pantry. Please help us fill the food box this month and help us share the love. Your child will be bringing home a lunch bag to fill with non-perishable goods and return for the food drive the week of October 10-14. It’s a positive way to help other people in our community. Thank you in advance for donating healthy non-perishable food items to a great cause. A big ‘thank you shout out to the Zacher family for having the playground fence moved forward in preparation for the upgrade to the playground.
Park’s Edge Preschool is working with GRG Playscapes on an improved playground environment commencing in November and completion by Spring 2023. The new environment will have a village-like atmosphere with a riding track to practice peddling on which it will take them to the various outdoor areas: music center, writing center, mud kitchen, sandbox, raised garden boxes, a clubhouse, and 2 other shelter areas, and in the center of it all a wood climbing structure. I will keep you posted on the development of this exciting project.
A Family Friendly Halloween Event fondly known as ‘‘Trunk or Treat” is planned for all Park’s Edge Preschool/Emanuel Church families on Thursday, October 27 from 5:30 to 7+pm. Park’s Edge Preschool is hosting our third annual safe, ‘spooktacular’ ‘trunk or treat’. The PEP staff will decorate the trunks of their cars. The decorated cars will be parked in the back parking lot. Families will dress in costume and parade from car to car collecting commercially packaged goodies from each decorated car with the costumed teacher(s). Families may also donate commercially packaged goodies by Wednesday, October 26, to PEP’s office for staff to distribute. In the event, it rains the event will be held indoors in each classroom. Park’s Edge Preschool is also collecting non-perishable foods at this annual event for the local food pantry. I hope you and your goblins can come and have some Halloween fun.
PEP’s Halloween fun continues Friday, October 28th when PEP’s Shining Stars, a preschool classroom, ventures to Hales Corners Care Center, in costume, to parade and trick-or-treat too for some Halloween cheer for the residents who live there. This annual event was hampered when COVID struck but happily, we can resume this tradition this October.
Monday, October 31st the children are ‘dressing up’ as their favorite character for an all-center costume parade at 10:00 am. Halloween is such a fun time of year at Park’s Edge Preschool with goodies for all! Have a Safe and Happy Halloween!!
Food Is Love and we love Emanuel Church! Make sure you mark your calendar for the annual ‘Frazzled Family Dinner’ sponsored by the ‘Mission Group’ of Emanuel Church scheduled for Wednesday, November 16th, …watch for details in your mailbox and a sign-up at the front desk!
Thank you!
Sincerely, Ellen M. Kvalheim, Director
