Dear Park’s Edge Preschool Families,
November is the perfect time to reflect on everything we are thankful for. Pastor Bob Snyder, one of the founders of Park’s Edge Preschool, stopped by the other day. He told me that he enjoys this time of year because it reminds him to slow down and appreciate what is around him and take in the beauty of the season. I couldn’t agree more!
Thank you to all the families that participated in our annual Trunk-or-Treat, it was a huge success! We had such fun themes and loved the creativity our staff showed! Love Bugs theme was The Hungry Caterpillar, Beautiful Butterflies: Alice in ‘One-der Land’, Darling Dragonflies sent us to a tropical island, Busy Bees’ were adorable as the three fairy godmothers, Sunshine under the sea adventure was so fun with bubbles, Fantastic Frogs celebrated Jesus and the fall harvest, Shining Stars were the Adam’s Family, Slithering Snakes decorated a ‘Spooky Bus that had a lot of visits, the office had fun destroying blocks with Wreck it Ralph, and Emanuel Church’s ‘Angel’s in the Outfield’ was a huge home run! Thank you to all the parents and grandparents who were able to attend both Trunk or Treat and our Halloween Parade this year!
Friday, November 7 is our Professional ½ Day. We close the center at 12pm and spend the afternoon training. This year’s topics include conferences, drop-off transitions, indoor winter play on inclement weather days and time to prepare portfolios for conference night. In the morning, we have Picture Day from 7-11am. You are welcome to bring in your child’s outfit, and we will change them into it prior to pictures. There is a form to fill out located above the mailboxes. Proof will be available about 24 hours after photos are taken. The information will be in your mailbox.
Have you signed up for Frazzled Family Dinner on Wednesday, November 19? It is a free dinner sponsored by Emanuel Church for almost 20 years! It is the best night of the year when you do not have to cook. You just come in to pick up your child and leave with dinner to take home to heat up when you are ready. In a time of hustle and bustle, it’s a wonderful time to just stop and connect with your family, without having to prepare the food. This year the menu is: meatballs and gravy, mashed potatoes, apples, and cookies. Included in the bag is a prayer card too. The sign-up sheet is at the front desk, sign up today!
Thursday November 20 is conference night. Sign-up sheets are in your child’s classroom. Childcare is provided so both parents/guardians can attend if possible. It is a wonderful opportunity to come and talk to your child’s teacher about their growth and progress using our Portage Assessment Guide. We will discuss any questions or concerns you may have. If you run out of time, you are welcome to call or come in at nap time to talk further. We hope that everyone can make it.
In celebration of Thanksgiving PEP will be closed on Thursday November 27 and Friday November 28. Normal charges will be applied.
I hope that everyone has a wonderful, blessed Thanksgiving.
Sincerely,
Kristin Burr
Executive Director
