Dear Park’s Edge Preschool Families:
Fall is such a wonderful time…the leaves are changing, the air is crisp, and fall activities bring joy to us all! Speaking of fun activities, our trunk-or-treat was a great success. I want to thank our families and church members who donated candy for our spooktacular event! We had a lot of fun themes for trunk-or-treat this year: Love Bugs (infant 1) – Ghosts, Beautiful Butterflies (Infant 2) – Library, Darling Dragonflies (toddlers)– Monsters Inc., Busy Bees (twos) – Legos, Sunshine (2 ½ – 3) – Animal Crackers, Fantastic Frogs (3 ½ – 4) – Shine Your Light With Jesus, Shining Stars (4) – Cops and Robbers, The Interns – Blues Clues, The Office – Scarecrows, and Emanuel Church – Oh, the Places You’ll Go With Jesus! The parent and child participation in dressing up this year was AMAZING, and we saw a lot of cool costumes! Non-perishable food items were collected, and thank you to all who donated for that as well. The Shining Stars also had fun trick-or-treating at the Hales Corners Care Center and visiting the residents! We ended our fall festivities with a fun costume parade for all ages! PEP’s children had so much fun showing off their spooky costumes to the spectators (parents and grandparents) gathered in Emanuel Church’s sanctuary for our Halloween Costume Parade!
Fall is an exciting time, but with fall comes colder weather. Please remember to swap out children’s spare clothes in their cubbies from summer to fall/winter items. Also, label all outside clothing items needed for outside time (hats, gloves, coats, boots, jackets, and snow pants). It is common for children to have similar items and we want to ensure the right gear is going home with the right children. If you have any questions on what you should bring, please let your child’s teacher know.
I am excited that we have hired new staff, and added them to our PEP family! We have Ms. Cathy who will be in our Darling Dragonflies classroom, Ms. Brooke who will be the cook, Ms. River in Love Bugs, and Ms. Taylor and Ms. Ladonne who will be starting with us very soon! We look forward to them all getting to know the children and adding great value to our wonderful program!
Hungarian Goulash, noodles, salad, apples, and dessert….what an amazing sounding meal! That is the menu for our Frazzled Family Dinner on Wednesday, November 15th. Enjoy a family dinner-to-go provided by the wonderful cooks of Emanuel Church. You must sign up by Friday, November 10th. The sign-up sheet is located at Park’s Edge Preschool’s front office, so sign up for a nice Hungarian Goulash and sides dinner. Conversation cards and a prayer card will be included to make this family time even more special! Life can lead to frazzled days and what better way to unwind than with a nice meal and time spent with loved ones. Treat yourself to a wonderful Frazzled Family Dinner and take some time to get unfrazzled! Remember to sign up at PEP’s front desk by November 10th.
Thursday November 16th, we have our parent-teacher conferences. Parents and teachers will come together to talk about how much the children have learned so far! They will also talk about goals they have for the children this year. We look forward to meeting with our families and talking about the most precious part of our days….the children!
Sunday, November 19th, I plan to attend Emanuel Church’s Worship Service to introduce myself to the congregation. I look forward to getting to know the members of Emanuel church and am delighted to lead the ministry of Park’s Edge Preschool in serving the community with Christian Childcare. If you attend feel free to say, “Hello!”.
Park’s Edge Preschool will be closed November 23rd and 24th in observance of Thanksgiving. I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of PEP and participate in the wonderful events this lovely Fall season! Thank you for making me feel so welcome! As a thank you, I will be passing out a breakfast-to-go on November 9th for our wonderful families!
I pray everyone has a safe, fun, and wonderful fall season!
Sincerely,
Haley Bigger
