Dear Park’s Edge Preschool Parents:
Summer passes by too quickly, doesn’t it? Although it’s just the beginning of summer, July 4th seems to mark summer’s half-way point. Summer is in full swing at Park’s Edge Preschool. Thursday, June 29tth—the children ages 2 and older were encouraged to bring a bicycle or tricycle to Park’s Edge Preschool. Pastor Joshua blessed the wheeled toys at 10 am. Throughout the day the children rode their vehicles with their classrooms. This was a great way to welcome Pastor Joshua to Park’s Edge Preschool’s Annual Bike Blessing and for the children to get to know him and start their summer safe. Parents were welcome to attend the ‘Bike Blessing’ too…what’s a parade without spectators?
Safety 1st at Park’s Edge Preschool:
We discourage parents from lifting their child over the fence.
Please drive safely though our parking lot when dropping off or picking up your children.
Biennial CPR training is required of all staff. We have added several new staff that became CPR and AED certified on Tuesday, June 27th at PEP. Brian Schulenburg is an experienced trainer through Pulses and First Aid.
‘Granny’s Treats’ is a cool way to celebrate summer at PEP! An ice cream ‘van’ visits PEP every Thursday afternoon during the summer. Faculty and children, 18 months old and over, all enjoy Granny’s Treats. What makes it really ‘cool’ is the Granny’s Treats have been serving ice cream at PEP for over a decade! Who doesn’t love ice cream?
Speaking of ‘cool’ summer fun…Emanuel Church has several summer events planned that Park’s Edge Preschool families may be interested in Participating in:
Summer Vacation Bible School (VBS) is scheduled for Monday, July 24th through Thursday, July 27th from 5:30 to 7:30pm. Children aged 3 to 12 years old are welcome to participate. The VBS Theme ‘Stellar, Shine Jesus’ Light’. 11th Park’s Edge Preschool is celebrating summer this year with a ‘Carnival Night’. Children will participate in bible study, crafts, songs, and dinner too! R.S.V.P. at PEP’s front desk sign-up.

Speaking of exciting events…please mark your calendars now for ‘PEP’s Talent Show’ scheduled for Thursday, August 10th in Emanuel Church’s Sanctuary at 4pm. We have many talented children and staff at PEP. You won’t want to miss this fun event! We are excited to open this event up to the public again…be sure to watch for details in your family mailbox soon.
“Let Freedom Ring” is the 2023 Hales Corners July Fourth Parade Theme. This year the parade falls on Tuesday, July 4th at 4pm. I’m delighted to announce Park’s Edge Preschool will be participating in the parade. Ms. Jenele is my co-chair and Mr. Cody, PEP’s beloved bus driver, is available to drive the bus in the parade. Many PEP staff are excited to be able to participate in this annual community celebration with their families. PEP families are welcome to join us and participate in the annual parade this year, by either riding the bus (seats are limited) or passing candy along the parade route. If that doesn’t appeal to you, please come, and watch the parade. It’s a great way to celebrate USA’s birthday with your little ones.
The entire Hales Corners Community celebrates the July 4th Holiday. There is so much to do; The Firecracker Run, Children’s Parade, Holz Car Show, bed races, pet costume contest, July 4th Parade, fireworks and more. This year they are featuring food trucks in the beer garden outside the Hales Corners Pool. Check out the informational flier inserted in this newsletter. PEP is closed on Tuesday, July 4th, honoring Independence Day. Regular holiday payment is expected. PEP is open Monday, July 3rd. Whatever you choose to do play it safe
Happy July 4th Holiday
