Dear Park’s Edge Preschool Families:
Can July really be here already? I am delighted to see many of the Park’s Edge Preschool families are returning to Park’s Edge Preschool for summer rather than going on summer vacation in July PEP staff and I are excited to have you back at your ‘home away from home’! Thank you for choosing Park’s Edge Preschool and supporting us through COVID-19.
Park’s Edge Preschool made the news this week! Sunday, June 28th, Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel announced, ‘Top Choice Award’ Winners. Park’s Edge Preschool was announced the winner of the ‘Best Daycare Facility! Thank you to those that voted. The children are the true winners of Park’s Edge Preschool winning this valued award!
Here is some more ‘good news’ at PEP…As you know, child-care is an essential part of the infrastructure that supports our society. I am happy to report PEP has received State of Emergency Funding to pay ‘incentive pay’ to the staff that worked at PEP during the pandemic mandate in caring for essential workers children during the health care crisis COVID-19. Park’s Edge Pre-school staff does take the re-sponsibility in serving the public with consistent 5-star quality rated child-care seriously. Please pray for our heroes and all the caregivers that make a difference in the lives of children and families. Thank you!
You may recall on March 12, 2020, PEP had a Farewell Reception for Ms. Dora, our former cook because she was getting married and retiring. Since then, the bus has been parked and Mr. Cody, certified in food service too, has been cooking. However, Mr. Cody is needed back in the classroom and hopefully back on the road soon as our school bus driver. Late June, Park’s Edge Preschool welcomed a new cook ‘Ms. Shalyn’. She is certified for food service and experienced in cooking and serving in large group settings, such as PEP. Presently, Park’s Edge Preschool is catering through MCFI until our Ms. Shalyn is acclimated to our program’s schedule, etc. PEP will then return to home-cooking on-site. Food is love…we love our new cook!
We have plenty to be smiling about at PEP this summer…cool, clean, safe, Christian fun for all! Summer kicked off at Park’s Edge Preschool with a ‘foam machine’, reinforcing hand washingJ Thursday, June 25th ‘Granny’s Treats’ returned to PEP with ice cream for everyone over 1 years old. Granny’s Treats has been serving ice cream to PEP every summer since 2008. Speaking of ‘cool’ treats…Pastor Bill is blessing children’s bikes this Thursday, July 2nd. PEP children, preschool and up will bring their wheeled toys for the day. I am so happy that summer has finally arrived!
Children must always be accompanied by an adult on the premises. Here is a friendly reminder that the center closes at 6pm, sharp. All staff and children must be out of the building by then or a late pick-up fee will be applied after 6pm closing time. Key fobs do not work after 6pm.
PEP is replacing the flooring in our infant-toddler upper level classrooms during the long holiday weekend. The infant-toddler classrooms will be closed from Thursday, July 2nd to Monday, July 6th and reopen Tuesday, July 7th for infant-toddlers. Our apologies for the inconvenience this may cause families at this time. We look forward to ‘little feet’ on our new floor next week.
Friday, July 3rd, Park’s Edge Preschool is closed for July 4th Holiday. Preschool and school age classrooms on the lower level are open for business as usual on Monday, July 6th. Please let the office staff know your vacation schedule if/when your children will not be attending Park’s Edge Preschool by completing a Change of Schedule Form, located above the family mailboxes in the entrance area. Thank you.
Safely celebrate the values of our great nation on this Independence Day with your family. We look forward to welcoming your family after a happy and safe 4th of July Holiday Weekend! Thank you!
Sincerely,
Ellen M. Kvalheim
