Dear Park’s Edge Preschool Families:
We’re off to a super school year here at Park’s Edge Preschool! Feed them and they will come is PEP’s motto…and they did! Park’s Edge Preschool’s Annual Open House was held Thursday, September 6, 2018. Families were treated to a ‘progressive dinner’ served throughout the center. The infant/toddler classroom’s featured cheese & crackers and veggies & dip; the preschool classrooms served salad; and the main course of baked chicken breast, mashed potatoes and green beans was served in Kurth Hall…and a brownie treat too! Thank you to all those families that attended, it was a nice opportunity to get to know your family better.
Speaking of Food…Park’s Edge Preschool will be collecting food donations the entire month of October for the CROP Walk…What’s that? CROP is the acronym for Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty. Emanuel Church and Park’s Edge Preschool are collaborating to collect nutritious, non-perishable food(s). It’s a positive way to help the hungry in our community by raising awareness and funds for international relief and development, as well as local hunger-fighting agencies. Once again Park’s Edge Preschool classrooms are collecting healthy, non-perishable foods. You too can help by donating a bag or two of healthy non-perishable food items. Thanks again for your help!
Wednesday, October 10th Park’s Edge Preschool will be honored to host a training for the Wisconsin Child Care Administrative Association (WCCAA). We have been chosen to host the October meeting for the third year in a row. This year’s training topic is on new policies and procedures for the state required background checks. Pertinent information will be given to Child Care Center Directors from Milwaukee, Waukesha and Racine Counties on hiring qualified staff.
The roundabout is coming along and soon will be nothing but a memory. The Hales Corners Chamber of Commerce is planning a ribbon cutting to celebrate it’s opening. We will announce the day the ribbon will be cut if you’d like to join us.
Come join the fun…A Family Friendly Harvest Celebration/ Costume Party for all ages will be held at Park’s Edge Preschool on Thursday, October 25th from 5:30-7:30 p.m. The evening’s events will include chili, cornbread and brownies for dinner, a costume parade, scavenger hunt and magic show. Parents and children will come in costume for an evening of family fun and fellowship. Watch for Park’s Edge Preschool staff members…what character are they dressing up as this year? All families are welcome to come join the fun…siblings and grandparents too. I am asking you to bring two or more non-perishable food items to help fill the barrel. The Milwaukee Hunger Task Force will pick up the barrel early November. Please R.S.V.P. by thWednesday, October 24 for PEP at the front desk or call (414)427-9561.
