Dear Park’s Edge Preschool Families:
Park’s Edge Preschool held the annual Preschool Graduation Ceremony for fifteen preschool graduates on Thursday, May 25th. Children entering 5-k in fall participated in the graduation ceremony held in Emanuel Church’s beautiful sanctuary. After the ceremony family, friends and the preschool graduates were served graduation cake and ice cream in Kurth Hall. The ‘Good News’ group congratulated the preschool graduates by giving each child a special ‘goodie bag’. PEP’s Preschool Graduation is an opportunity for us to reflect on our program. Park’s Edge Preschool has provided the preschool graduates with the tools supported with Christian values for life-long learning. Congratulations to all 2017 graduates!
It was a happy celebration for PEP Mothers’ and Grandmothers’ on Friday, May 12th, who were treated to a special breakfast along with their children. Tables were set using Emanuel Church’s new ‘good china’ in Kurth Hall. It was a great way to say ‘thanks’ to all Park’s Edge Preschool Moms and Grandmas! Fathers and Grandfathers will be treated special too. We’re looking ahead to a Fathers and Grandfathers Ice Cream Social celebration on Thursday, June 15th! Watch for details in your family mailbox…you don’t want to miss the fun!
Thanks again for all the families who have supported the classroom supply fundraiser for cubbies in Park’s Edge Preschool’s classrooms on the lower level by attending the Children’s Talent Show/Spaghetti Dinner. Soon PEP children ages two and a half through five years old will enjoy the benefit of having their own individual cubby…their parents will too! We are about $1500.00 shy of our goal of $6000.00 to be able to purchase twelve units of five cubbies in each. Our goal is to complement each class- room with twenty individual cubbies for each group. If you are interested in helping us achieve our goal please fill out a form at the front office desk to donate to this cause. All gifts are 100% tax deductible and 100% appreciated! Thank you!
Summer at PEP is a great way for children to stay busy while they are having fun learning with friends. To get the summer rolling, the summer program will start with a ‘bike blessing’ by Pastor Bill of Emanuel Church. Children of all ages may bring their wheeled toys on Wednesday, June 14th, the blessing is at 10 am. If you’re interested in joining us for the bike blessing you would be welcome…including your bike too! Please let us know if you will be coming. Many more field trip activities are planned throughout the summer for children age 4 and up.
Thank you to all who came out to celebrate and fun(d)raise for Jacoba Johnson at Organ Piper Pizza on Tuesday, May 16th. Ms. Jacoba has been a toddler teacher of Park’s Edge Preschool since 2006. The fundraiser for Jacoba was established to help pay her medical bills during her absence from work due to her cancer treatments. The community really came through in supporting Jacoba. It is too early to report totals yet, but I am confident it is enough to relieve some of her worries. I will keep you posted!
Remember—4pm on the Fourth of July is the Hales Corners Parade start time! The Independence Day Celebration is just around the corner…consider celebrating July Fourth all day in Hales Corners. From morning to night Hales Corners offers fun for the whole family to celebrate our nation’s birthday…USA!
Park’s Edge Preschool is looking forward to family fun at AugustFest. Mark your calendars for Sunday, August 6th—watch for details. The PEP staff is looking forward to our friendly competition tugging war against Emanuel Church members! Come join the summer fun…mark your calendars now!
Be safe this summer!
Sincerely,
Ellen M. Kvalheim
