Dear Park’s Edge Preschool Families:

Summer has arrived! July 4th seems to mark the half-way point of summer for me and I cannot believe we are in July already! PEP’s summer program is in full swing and children we haven’t seen since last summer are returning to PEP again. Happily, it feels like a family reunion celebration!

All the fieldtrips planned are educational and fun! Please pay close attention to fieldtrip departure time from PEP so your child is present when we leave for our fieldtrip destination. At summer’s end we will take a poll to get parent and/or child’s input on summer programming for next year. Special thanks to our summer fieldtrip planning committee (Ms. Rhianna, Ms. Melinda and Ms. Jenele) for planning another awesome summer at Park’s Edge Preschool!

We all scream for ice cream…and keeping our cool at Park’s Edge Preschool with Granny’s Treats. Thursday is our favorite day during the summer at Park’s Edge Preschool. The children and staff are treated to ice cream brought to us by an old-fashioned ice cream truck. We love Thursdays at PEP…it’s so cool!! Stop in early on a Thursday and have some ice cream…anytime between 2:30 and 3pm!

It is not too late for children to sign up for Emanuel Church’s Vacation Bible School scheduled from 5:30 to 7:30pm, Monday, July 23rdthrough Thursday, July 26th. This year’s theme is Under the Sea; ‘God Is Your Anchor’. All children ages 3 through 12 years old are welcome to join the fun for dinner, bible study and crafts. Please sign-up at the Park’s Edge Preschool’s front desk and be sure to fill out a permission form and leave it with PEP office staff. Ms. Jenele and Ms. Julie are part of the Vacation Bible School programming. This is the eighth year the VBS invitation has included Park’s Edge Preschool.

Monday, July 23rd—Isaiah 43:2 “When you go through deep waters I will be with you.”Tuesday, July 24th –Matthew4:19 “Follow me and I will make you fishers of all people.”
Wednesday, July 25th –Proverbs3:5 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart.”
Thursday, July 26th—Family Celebration Day! Parents are invited for the celebration.

The Department of Transportation has met with Emanuel Church and Park’s Edge Preschool about some possible ‘good news’ on the road construction and round-about. The two-year project, scheduled directly in front of our building, is in discussion. The DOT may be focusing all their energies on the immediate area to complete the round-about this year. They guarantee accessibility to Park’s Edge Preschool/Emanuel Church at all times during the road construction, no matter what the outcome. The DOT will be handling all communications to families about possible traffic patterns if this decision is made. Watch for details through an email blast and on the Park’s Edge Preschool’s website if this new develop- ment is approved. Safety is the number one concern about the possible change of plans if approved by the village and DOT.

Thank you.

If your family doesn’t have plans on the Fourth of July Holiday yet, I recommend spending the day in Hales Corners on July 4th. There is so much to do…car show at Holz, bed races, parade, fireworks and more. The details are included in this newsletter. Please have a safe holiday weekend whatever you choose to do on July 4th. I will be on vacation the week of July 4th. Happy 242nd Birthday, USA!

Sincerely,
Ellen M. Kvalheim
