February brings “Love and Friendship” to Park’s Edge Preschool. The preschool children will also be creating extra-special valentines for the veterans at Clement Zablocki Veteran’s Hospital and our resident friends at Forest Ridge Senior Community and Hales Corners Care Center. Park’s Edge Preschool children will be busy making valentines for exchanging with their peers too. Special valentine activities are planned in each classroom throughout the week of February 12-16. It’s a very special time for everyone to celebrate love and friendship. All groups will celebrate Valentine’s Day on Wednesday, February 14th with a Valentine Parade at 10 am. Loved ones are welcome to come and watch the parade and receive a special valentine! Be sure to see the newsletter insert on more details about Park’s Edge Preschool’s Valentine’s week celebration. Thank you!

Park’s Edge Preschool is fortunate to share God’s loving message with the children we care for. Sunday, January 28, 2018 was CHHSM Sunday; CHHSM is the acronym for the United Church of Christ’s Council for Health and Human Service Ministries. The CHHSM logo of the washbasin and towel reminds us to love and serve one another as Jesus did in washing the disciples’ feet. Park’s Edge Preschool is a recognized nationally as a UCC ministry. The PEP staff and I had the opportunity to participate in the ‘blessing of the hands’ ceremony performed by Pastor Dale Stohre honoring health and human service occupations at Emanuel Church. The UCC CHHSM Ministries range from early childhood programs to senior living communities. CHHSM’s 2018 Annual Meeting is in St. Louis, Missouri March 1st – 3rd. Jesus’ message to love and serve one another is practiced daily at Park’s Edge Preschool/Emanuel Church.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
Ellen M. Kvalheim, Park’s Edge Preschool Director
