Dear Park’s Edge Preschool Families:
I hope your family had a restful, healthy, Thanksgiving weekend. November was a time of reflection, evaluation and thankfulness. Thank you to the many families that attended PEP’s Parent-teacher Conference Night held on Thursday, November 16th. Parents are asked to reflect on Park’s Edge Preschool’s programs. Each family was asked to complete a NAC Parent Survey. The survey helps us focus on the quality of our child care services. The survey results are tallied and reported annually to the Association for Early Learning Leaders, which is the governing body of the NAC Accreditation. Early January the staff will review the parent surveys and set goals for the upcoming year. We value your feedback!
Food is love… and we love Emanuel Church’s outreach to frazzled families. The Frazzled Family Chicken-pot-pie-to-go Dinner was a huge success! Wednesday, November 15th ninety -nine ‘frazzled’ families (385 servings!) were blessed to have Emanuel Church’s Good News Group serve a delicious meal to go. The menu consisted of heartwarming home-made chicken pot pie, biscuits, apples, and yummy cookies decorated by PEP children with tender loving care. Prayers and conversation cards were included in every order. The intention behind the Frazzled Family Dinner is to find time to have a meal with your loved ones.
The staff and I had a lot to be thankful for this year…the NAC Accreditation Annual Report was completed and mailed! Park’s Edge Preschool has been NAC Accredited with the Faith-based component since February 26, 2010. An annual report is due every year to maintain compliance before the expiration date of November 21, 2019. Park’s Edge Preschool’s NAC Accreditation Award is proudly displayed in the entrance area. Maintaining quality is priority in keeping the accreditation award. In addition our biennial continuation for our state license through the Department of Children and Families Early Care and Education was also due during this busy month.
I owe a lot of credit to PEP’s dedicated staff and board members that we have maintained our high quality status. Speaking of dedicated staff and high-quality standards…did you have an opportunity to check out our preschool classrooms on the lower level? We added cubbies in every classroom for each Individual preschool child in our care. The new addition has increased the space, helped organize every classroom and raised health and safety standards. Thanks to you for your contributions to our cubby campaign via ‘Talent Show & Spaghetti Dinner we were able to raise enough funds to complete our campaign goal this year! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Celebrating the Christmas season is always a special treat at Park’s Edge Preschool. Park’s Edge Preschool has an All-Center Christmas Party for all families. All families, includes siblings and grandparents too to come and celebrate the Christmas season with us on Thursday, December 7th from 6:30-8 pm. This holiday event is similar to Park’s Edge Preschool’s Open House featuring Christmas activities in every classroom and Santa Claus!
Jesus’ Birthday Celebration at PEP! It’s the time of year for giving and receiving at Park’s Edge Preschool, so gift yourself and join us for a festive celebration of Jesus’ birth. Park’s Edge Preschool’s children are planning a Christmas Alphabet Play about Jesus’ birth and singing Christmas Carols to celebrate Christmas. Pastor Bill will share a Christmas story too. Birthday cake and ice cream will be served in Kurth Hall afterwards. Jesus’ birthday party wouldn’t be complete without birthday presents? A gift wrapped box for non-perishable food items will be at the entrance doors for ‘birthday gifts’ to Jesus (donated food will be taken to the Hunger Task Force). All family members, including siblings and grandparents too, are invited to our annual tradition celebrating Jesus’ Birthday on Thursday, December 14th from 4:00-5:00 pm. Come celebrate Jesus and the reason for the season!
Merry Christmas!
