Dear Park’s Edge Preschool Families:

Why does summer have to go so fast when we are having such a terrific time at Park’s Edge Preschool? Ho! Ho! Ho! ‘Christmas In July’ was celebrated recently at PEP with a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus the third week in July! The children are all on Santa’s nice list…and PEP staff too!

The preschool and school age children have been very active this summer. Their travels have taken them to Moorland Mini-Golf, AMF Bowling Center, Altius Gymnastics, Pump-It-Up and the National Pettit Center! A few of the educational excursions to downtown Milwaukee were to the Planetarium at the Milwaukee Public Museum, Discovery World and Marcus Kids Stage. St. Ann’s Intergenerational Centerfor rain-or-shine indoorswimming field trip is scheduled 3 times this summer. There is a trained lifeguard on duty along with the teachers playing in the water with the children too. Summer at PEP is fun and safe!

One of the highlights this summer is going to take place on Sunday, August 5th…AugustFest! This annual tradition and collaboration with Emanuel Church is a family favorite. The combining of Emanuel Church’s Corn Roast with Park’s Edge Preschool’s Carnival was an opportunity for both to share resources and have some fun celebrating summer together. Be sure to come and bring the whole family…and neighbors too!

Emanuel Church’s/ Park’s Edge Preschool’s AugustFestisheldannually after worship service the first Sunday in August…it’s also ‘Invite A Friend to Worship’ Sunday! Make some new family memories at AugustFest!

Food…wonderful food…roasted chicken and corn, brats, hotdogs, chips, German potato salad, Cole slaw and desserts! Come for the food and stay for the fun…Park’s Edge Preschool will be sponsoring carnival games, for all ages, which will include; A Fishing Game, Duck Pond, teacher’s favorite ‘Pie in the Teacher’s Eye’, Giant Jenga and Kerplunk. Other Augustfest highlights sponsored by PEP is Face-painting, Temporary Tattoos and an interactive bounce house. Consider inviting family and friends to Sunday Worship and staying for AugustFest! Food…fun…and so much more…and of course…the more the merrier!

Let’s not forget AugustFest’s friendly competition of  ‘tug of war’ between Park’s Edge Preschool and Emanuel Church. The match has been lovingly named the‘John Farina Tug of War Memorial Tournament’. John Farina served as Emanuel Church’s Building and Grounds Trustee and AugustFest Committee member. John passed away several years ago. He has been missed by teaching staff at Park’s Edge Preschool.

Wanted—non-perishable food items to be donated to the Milwaukee Hunger Task Force, a donation box is conveniently located in the front entrance area. Remember hunger never takes a vacation!

It has been another memorable summer at PEP. It’s that time of year we say farewell to summer friends leaving us for the school year and welcome back friends returning for the 2018-2019 school year. We have a busy fall ahead of us.PEP’s 2018 Open House/ Progressive Dinner will be held on Thursday, September 6th from 5:30-7pm.
