Dear Park’s Edge Preschool Families:
‘Back to School’?
Can summer really be over already? This time of year, we are welcoming new families and sadly saying good-bye to our departing families. September is one of the busiest times of the year at Park’s Edge Preschool; new enrollments, schedule changes and bussing back to school too. Yes, the busy school-year is underway already here at Park’s Edge Preschool. This year’s road construction will make schedules tricky too! PEP had a trial bus run to school on Wednesday, August 29thwhen the children transitioning to 4-k and 5-k in the Whitnall School District had an early day of school to experience the transition. It was a success!
While planning 2018’s summer program, our main goal is to keep it affordable for families. We had several ‘in-house’fieldtrips that were educational and economical; a Martial Arts Demonstration; a parent playing guitar and a staff member teaching the children yoga too. Walking to McDonald’s for lunch and on a few occasions, we pic- nicked in our own backyard. Here is a sample of some of the places we visited via Park’s Edge Preschool’s mini bus; rain or shine indoor swimming at St. Ann’s Intergenerational Center, Pump It Up and Kids in Motion, to name a few. I’ll keep you posted which 2018 fieldtrip is rated best after polling the children/families. The summer highlight for both Emanuel Church and Park’s Edge Preschool has become our annual AugustFest. Thanks to all our staff and volunteers who made it special!
Fall is a season of change… You will see a few updated changes to the lower level hallway and purple room. We are looking at replacing the handrail, carpeting, add some fresh paint and a few more changes will happen. The Trustees’ of Emanuel Church and the PEP Board are working together on the project details. Stay tuned…A few more changes to Parks’ Edge Preschool staffing are happening for the 2018-2019 school-year: The classroom staffing for the Infant-Toddler/upper level classrooms: Lovebugs-Ms. Nicole & Ms. Jacoba; Beautiful Butterflies-Ms. Julie & Ms. Anna; Darling Dragonflies-Ms. Melinda & Ms. Sharon; Busy Bees-Ms. Emily & Ms. Terri. Our fall enrollment is developing quickly…so if know anyone looking for childcare, there are a few openings in our preschool program available, so be sure to invite them to…PEP’s Annual Open House. PEP’s focus’ is on the NAC Accreditation with the Faith-Based Component. Families are invited to see the entire center and check out PEP’s Christian curriculum. Extended family members, friends and neighbors are welcome to come! PEP is offering a progressive dinner throughout the entire child care center to give families the opportunity for food and fellowship…food is love and we love our families!
Backpacks are blessed here at Emanuel Church on ‘Rally Day’Sunday, September 9th…for a blessed school year consider coming to Emanuel Church’s Worship Service at 9:30am.
